 Maple Ridge Community Animal Shelter
The BC SPCA's Maple Ridge branch has helped tens of thousands of animals in the 35 years they've been open. Recently, Maple Ridge built a new community animal centre which is more than twice the size of the previous building and with double the capacity for animals. The new building will be B.C.'s first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited animal shelter and will house more than 2,000 animals a year.
Eaglecom Foundation supported the new building, helping Maple Ridge build 16 large, bright, shared dog apartments, which will increase socialization among the animals. These apartments are paramount to incorporating modern animal welfare features into new shelters, something that the BC SPCA is very passionate about, and something we are too!
